Family

You know so many of us feel guilt if we don't take our kids somewhere for a big vacation every year or every spring break. I try to explain to a friend of mine that sure your kids will remember those trips but they may not be the ones they cherish the most. Growing up we only took one big vacation that I remember and that was to Florida - I was ready to move and luckily as a adult my daughter and I got to spend two years in Florida and honestly that was the hardest part of the divorce - leaving the beach. My family also took trips to Branson and to Magic Springs - a local amusement park here in Hot Springs, AR and those were great times too. The time I remember as the most fun was when we had a family water fight. My Mom and I were on one side of the house with a water hose and my Dad and brother was on the other side of the house with a water house and the fight was on. I don't really remember any other specifics of it but the laughter and the giggles. That was a great time and a great memory.

I hope that Erynn will have memories like that to remember. I know from our big trip that we took one of the memories that I will always have is of her "stealing" rocks for me on the trip. It started with the Petrified Forest and them telling us that you couldn't pick anything up to take home and we didn't, but after that everywhere we went we took at least one rock with us. When we were coming out of a motel in Jackson Hole, WY Erynn said, "Mom I've found the perfect rock for you. Pull the car over here for me." So I moved the car to where she was at and she put in this nice round rock. She was so proud of herself and that's really when it began. I kept hearing, "Mom, what do you think of this rock?" My back floorboard by the time we got home was full of rocks, but she had rocks to share with her Nana too of the trip. What an inexpensive souveniour but I hope that it always brings back memories for her of that special time we spent together.

What's a memory that you have of a special family time?

Great post, Angie! I'm always hoping that my boys appreciate and remember the family trips we took when they were younger.

I think our best trip was Disney. They were older (12 & 16) and we all went on rides together with no little kiddie ones to deal with. They got to enjoy the pool and we got to relax a bit.

My best trips that I remember most were the annual camping ones. We went to the same site every year. I never knew that it cost so little to do it, nd I remember that I had a lot of fun every time. I think the trips that are tradition are the best. Its really not the money, in hindsight, I never even understood about the money. It was because my parents knew how to make me laugh. I loved it.

Being a single Mom has got to be the hardest job assignment in the world. It seems that most of our "vacations" had had practical reasons behind them. We've been taken daughters to and from school for the past few years, and then helping relatives move, or whatever. Still, we've tried to have fun and create memories.

Typically the t100577 Nest Learning Thermostat can
be described as modern newer sorts of thermostat. The Easy Clip Fan is a must and definitely an essential
for incoming college freshmen. To save energy, the aim was for residents to program their schedules for regulating home
temperatures, which proved to be complex and not popular in use.

Polarising filters are a must-have accessory for any
landscape photographer. Make a list of your requirements, and then choose the right model
for yourself. On the other hand, the Nano worked fine,
but after a couple of hours of steadicam work, my arms were getting tired.

Watches : The new Nike + Sports Watch GPS utilizes the Nike + sensing element based in the
shoe for trailing time, rate, distance, small calories burnt as
well as heart rate. But it is hard to hold it in one hand especially to female users.
In appearance, Samsung galaxy note 2
takes some design riffs from the S3, which feels crystal clear.
